\n\t\t\tThis Act, consisting of ten Parts completed by 5 Schedules, concerns the protection of the environment in the territory of Victoria. It provides for the establishment of the Environment Protection Authority and regulates its operation. Part I proclaims the principles to be followed for the protection of the environment, including the precautionary principle. Part II covers environmental protection bodies and their roles. It also establishes an Environment Protection Board. Part III is dedicated to environmental protection and covers environmental policies, economic measures, planning for environmental improvements, works approval, control of wastes and noise and licences.; Part IV provides for reviews by tribunal of decisions related to environmental protection. Part V, VI and VII state general principles for the prevention of water, air and land pollution, including issues related to littering. Part VIII is dedicated to noise control and Part IX contains provisions to promote resource efficiency, including recycling and reuse of materials and waste, waste management plans, landfills and industry waste reduction. Part IXA and IXB cover transport and disposal of prescribed waste, Part IXD environmental audits and Part X general matters, including enforcement and offences and penalties. | \n\t\t
