The Persons With Disabilities Act

Part II of this Law contains the rights of persons with disabilities including the prohibition of discrimination and use of derogatory names. It also continues the functions of the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities which are to plan, promote and administer services for persons with disabilities. Part IV mandates State institutions to consider the integration of persons with disabilities whenever they are developing and implementing national policies and plans. Finally, this document also continues the National Trust Fund for Persons with Disabilities and provides for the domestication of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol as well as other international instruments that Zambia is a party to.
