Extension of Security of Tenure Act


This Law provides for measures to facilitate long-term security of land tenure which are to be enhanced through the State. It also regulates the conditions of residence on certain land as well as the circumstances under which the right of persons to reside on land may be terminated. This Act also contains provisions on the available mechanisms for dispute resolution ranging from mediation to proceedings in the Land Claims Court. Finally, this document gives effect to expropriation as elucidated under the Expropriation Act of 1975 as well as contains a list of punishable offences.

This Law repeals sections (1 and 2) and inserts a new section 3A in the Trespass Act of 1959.
